I’ve been talking about this for a while now, and it started out as something much, much different, but through the last couple years, I’ve really honed in on exactly what it is that I felt this should be. NextFish is much more than a media hub, or a blog. It’s the focal point of my own masterpiece, and the new home of my adventures, as well as many friends that will choose to share this with me.
As anglers, we’re all looking for the next fish. We’re never truly happy with the one we have, and it’s the uncertain mysteries of what lies beneath the water that keeps us coming back for more. Some of us choose to fish out of bass boats, huge center consoles, kayaks and SUPs, and some of us even choose to get in the water and take our chances with a more hands-on approach. You see, the one thing we all have in common, is we’re all chasing that next fish. Am I right?
A LITTLE HISTORY:
My name is Andrew Cameron. This isn’t my first rodeo. Having run a relatively successful digital publication from early 2014-late 2015, called YakAngling Magazine, I quickly learned that digital media was a path that I found true passion in. Bringing news, lifestyle, and information to anglers around the country was something that I was really good at, and fully enjoyed. After only two issues, YakAngling Magazine quickly became a crowd favorite, and managed 2nd place for “Kayak Angling Journal/Magazine” Of The Year in the coveted YakAngler’s Kayak Angler Choice Awards, among some great publications like Kayak Angler Magazine and KayakFISH Mag. We’ve also made it to the top 5 in the running for the same award this year. Sadly, I realized that I started all of this with bad timing. I made a promise to work through 2015 and finish the year, and took a hiatus from this amazing way to bring stories to viewers.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
NextFish is much more than a blog. It’s going to have quite a few different avenues involved that will become more apparent as time goes on. From Digital Publications to Online Tournaments and even Live Events in the future, there’s so much more that will become known.
Our very first operation, under NextFish, is LocalAngler. It’s a digital publication that is driven to push tourism to local areas. The best way to showcase these areas is to talk about it! I’ve spent countless hours planning this out, so that I could capture the local fisheries and not miss a beat. I live in Florida, so it only made sense to me to start here. With Florida being our first state, you will see 14 individual digital publications come to life in January.
With the help of Robwil Valderrey, I’m actively seeking advertisers in these 14 local regions, and it’s super affordable. More to come on this tomorrow, in the next Blog Post. If you have any advertisement questions in the meantime, please, reach out to Robwil: robwil@nextfish.co
I’m also actively seeking contributors in each area. It’s mandatory that you are an angler. It’s also loosely required to be in a specific region. The way that LocalAngler is set up allows us to have a unique voice for each region, while catering to a vast audience, not inclusive of your own region.
WHAT NOW:
In the meantime, you can check out some of our friends that love to share content. There’s something for everyone, and will be so much more, soon, as we expand our network and build out a great resource for your viewing pleasure!
